Berk Ganesh in detail
Ganesha, a popular Indian deity, is considered the son of Parvati and Shiva. According to legend, Parvati created Ganesha out of solitude while Shiva was in meditation. When Shiva returned, he became angry and cut off Ganesha's head. After regretting his action, he ordered the head of the first living being he would meet to be placed on Ganesha's body and revived. This creature was an elephant - thus a new god was born who combined the powers of Shiva and Parvati.
It is said that Ganesha removes all obstacles. That is why he is often invoked before any endeavour. He brings material and spiritual prosperity and is therefore seen as a patron saint for business people. But Ganesha is also a must for any new beginning, be it a move or a new job. He blesses the new situation and promises good fortune.
Ganesha has four arms that represent the four aspects of the subtle body: Mind, ego, spirit and consciousness.
