Charcoal tablets 250mg in detail
Medicinal charcoal for the treatment of diarrhoea and poisoning caused by food, heavy metals and medicines. Do not use for poisoning caused by pesticides.
Active ingredients:
250 mg medicinal charcoal per tablet.Excipients:
Magnesium stearate, hyprolose, maltodextrin, iron(II,III) oxide, povidone K25.Indications:
For the relief of diarrhoea and for the treatment of poisoning caused by food, heavy metals and medicines.Dosage:
Adults take 2-4 tablets 3-4 times daily in plenty of liquid, children half the dose. For poisoning up to 50 tablets, then take a saline laxative such as sodium sulphate.Duration of use:
Until normalisation of bowel movements in case of diarrhoea; if treatment is unsuccessful, consult a doctor after 3 days.Method of administration:
Dissolve tablets in plenty of liquid and drink.Side effects:
No known side effects at recommended doses. Very high doses may cause constipation and mechanical ileus; prevent with saline laxative.Interactions:
Do not take at the same time as other medicines as their effect may be impaired.Contraindications:
Do not use in febrile diarrhoea.Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
No restrictions on use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.Patient information:
If poisoning is suspected, inform a doctor or the emergency services immediately. Medicated charcoal is not effective against poisoning caused by organic and inorganic salts and solvents.Roadworthiness and machine operation:
