Erler Zimmer breast examination simulator, extended version in detail
Breast cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in women. A correctly performed manual examination is an important measure to detect cancer at an early and more treatable stage. Our advanced breast examination simulator provides particularly realistic training for clinical examinations and self-examination. Unlike other simulators, the tissue density in the simulated breast actually varies, just like in a live patient. You can use different sizes (1-4 cm diameter), shapes (round, oval, irregular) and densities of tumours to create different training scenarios. This includes benign tumours, cysts as well as malignant tumours and enlarged lymph nodes. The torso of the model is correctly positioned in the supine position and allows access to both armpits. You can feel palpable ribs, sternum, clavicles and enlarged lymph nodes in the armpit and areas below the clavicle. Skin features such as orange peel skin, inflammation, retracted nipples, skin dimples and asymmetries are also displayed on the surprisingly realistic skin. The advanced breast examination simulator was developed for examination in the supine position, but can also be used in the upright position. The exercises can also be performed without the support skin. The set contains a fixed base, right and left breast inserts, support skin, three tumour sets with a total of 27 nodes, nine soft nodes to represent the soft breast tissue, one hard node to represent the thoracic wall infiltration, baby powder, a hard case and instructions for use (in English). The dimensions of the torso are 36 x 30 x 15 cm.
