- Caution in case of corticoid allergy (e.g. cortisone)!
- Be careful if you are allergic to binding agents (e.g. carboxymethylcellulose with the E number E 466)!
- Preservatives (e.g. benzalkonium chloride) can cause swelling of the nasal mucosa with prolonged use. If such a reaction is suspected (persistent nasal congestion), a medicine for use in the nose without preservatives should be used.
- There may be medicines with which interactions occur. You should therefore generally inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other medicine you are already using before starting treatment with a new medicine. How does the active ingredient of the medicine work?
The active ingredient is a related substance to cortisone. Cortisone is a hormone that is also produced by the body itself.
The active ingredient is mainly used to reduce chronic inflammatory reactions in the body, for example in the respiratory tract or digestive tract. The active ingredient inhibits the body's own processes that continue to feed inflammation in the body. In the case of chronic diseases, the inflammation can take on a life of its own and lead to far-reaching symptoms due to swelling of the affected skin or mucous membrane.
The substance only works optimally if it is used regularly.
