RFM® PLAST splint material in detail
The white material of the RFM® PLAST splints immediately becomes transparent as it softens, making it easy to determine whether the material has been sufficiently heated. The temporary transparency also makes application easier (coloured material does not become transparent). The 3.2 mm thickness is ideal for static-progressive and dynamic splints, splints for lower and upper extremities and spastic splints. 2.4 mm thick material provides moderate support and is suitable for most arthritis splints, paediatric splints, as a base for dynamic splints, and for upper extremities. Material with a thickness of 1.6 mm is easy to cut even when cold and is suitable for small wrist supports, finger splints, thumb splints, hand splints and children's splints. The processing time for a thickness of 1.6 mm is 1-2 minutes, for a thickness of 2.4 mm 2-3 minutes and for 3.2 mm 4-6 minutes.
