The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.How to use?
Drop the medicine into the conjunctival sac of the/each eye. Put your head back for the application. After instilling the drops, slowly close the eye and press lightly with your finger on the tear duct between the nose and the inner eyelid.
Duration of use?
Without medical advice, the duration of treatment should only be 5 days and the dosage should not be high. You should always ask your doctor about the duration of use in children.
Overdosage?
A variety of overdose symptoms can occur; the first signs are pupil dilation, nausea, fever, cramps and even cardiac arrest. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor immediately.
Forgotten to use?
Continue the application as normal (i.e. not with double the amount) at the next prescribed time.
As a general rule: Pay particular attention to conscientious dosing for infants, small children and older people. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist about any effects or precautionary measures.
A dosage prescribed by a doctor may differ from the information in the package leaflet. Since the doctor will adjust it individually, you should therefore use the medicine according to his instructions.
Storage before opening
The medicine must be stored away from heat.
Storage after opening or preparation
The medicinal product must be used within the next hour after opening/preparation!
The medicinal product is intended for single use only after opening/preparation. Any leftovers must be discarded!
What speaks against use?
Always:
- Hypersensitivity to the ingredients
Under certain circumstances - talk to your doctor or pharmacist:
- Cardiovascular diseases, such as:
- Coronary heart disease (circulatory disorders of the heart muscle)
- high blood pressure
- Pheochromocytoma (adrenaline-producing tumor)
- Metabolic diseases, such as
- Diabetes mellitus (diabetes)
- hyperthyroidism
- Increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma), such as narrow-angle glaucoma
- Dry eye (keratoconjunctivitis sicca)
- Drying of the nasal mucosa with bark formation (rhinitis sicca)
Which age group should be considered?
- Infants and young children under 2 years of age: The medicine must not be used.
What about pregnancy and breastfeeding?
- Pregnancy: According to current knowledge, the medicinal product should not be used.
- Lactation: According to current knowledge, use is not recommended. Breastfeeding may need to be considered.
If you have been prescribed the medicine despite a contraindication, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. The therapeutic benefit may be greater than the risk associated with use in the case of a contraindication.what adverse effects can occur?
- Irritation of the eye
- Visual disturbances, such as
- Blurred vision (dilation of the pupil)
- Overdose-related side effects (systemic sympathomimetic effects)
If you notice any discomfort or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
For the information provided here, side effects occurring in at least one in 1,000 treated patients are taken into account.
- In very rare cases, patients with severe corneal damage developed clouding of the cornea due to calcium deposits during treatment with phosphate-containing eye drops.
- There may be medicines with which interactions occur. You should therefore generally inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other medicine you are already taking before starting treatment with a new medicine. This also applies to medicines that you buy yourself, use only occasionally or have been using for some time.
How does the ingredient of the medicine work?
The active ingredient contracts the dilated veins in the mucous membrane of the nose and eyeball. This reduces the excessive blood flow to the olfactory and visual organs and reduces swelling of the mucous membrane. Patients can breathe more freely through their nose again. In addition, it no longer runs constantly. Annoying redness and non-specific irritation in the eyes disappear.
