Berk Ganesh turban in detail
Ganesha is one of the most famous Indian gods. He is considered to be the son of Parvati and Shiva. According to legend, Shiva withdrew to meditate and Parvati created a son out of solitude. When Shiva returned, he was filled with rage and anger and cut off Ganesha's head. After realising what he had done, he ordered the head of the first person who passed by to be placed on Ganesha's body to revive him. This head belonged to an elephant - thus a new god was born, uniting the power of Shiva and Parvati.
It is said that Ganesha removes all obstacles from the way. Therefore, he is often invoked before all kinds of endeavours. He ensures material and spiritual prosperity and is therefore considered the patron saint of business people. However, Ganesha should also be present at every new beginning, be it a move or a new job, as he blesses the new situation and promises good luck.
Ganesha has four arms that represent the four aspects of the subtle body: Mind, Ego, Spirit and Consciousness.
