EMLA cream contains the active ingredients lidocaine and prilocaine, which are local anaesthetics. This cream anaesthetises the surface of the skin and is used before certain medical procedures to relieve pain. It is used for needle pricks, minor surgical procedures or to anaesthetise the genitals before medical treatments. EMLA cream is suitable for both adults and children.
Ingredients
- Active ingredients: lidocaine (25 mg/g), prilocaine (25 mg/g)
- Other ingredients: Macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate, carbomer 974P, sodium hydroxide, purified water
Directions for use
- Recommended dose: The cream is applied in a thick layer and covered with a plaster.
- Application time: Leave on the skin for at least 60 minutes, maximum 5 hours, depending on the area of application.
- Areas of application: Skin, genital area, leg ulcers.
