Erler Zimmer prostate examination simulator in detail
This simulator includes a male abdomen and 4 different, interchangeable prostate glands that can be used for realistic diagnostic exercises using rectal examinations. Lubricant, cleaning agent and a transport case are included.
The 4 prostate glands have the following characteristics:
- A benign gland, slightly enlarged, otherwise inconspicuous.
- A gland in the early stages of carcinoma, with a firm lump palpable in the upper right quadrant.
- A gland in which the carcinoma has spread; the small nodule has grown into an external, firm mass on the surface of the prostate.
- A prostate completely replaced by carcinoma, hard and irregular to the touch.
