Freka-Clyss® enemas in detail
Active ingredients:
- 19200 mg sodium dihydrogen phosphate-2-water
- 7200 mg disodium hydrogen phosphate-12-water
Indications:
Freka-Clyss® is used to relieve constipation and faecal congestion to avoid harmful and painful straining during defecation. It causes an almost physiological emptying of the rectum and can also be used before births, operations, rectoscopies and radiological examinations.
Mode of action:
The hypertonic solution of Freka-Clyss® creates an osmotic pressure gradient between the intestinal fluid and the plasma, causing increased fluid to flow into the intestinal lumen. This leads to filling and increased pressure in the rectum, which stimulates intestinal peristalsis in a physiological way.
Product properties:
- Ready-to-use pouches for rectal enema
- A 15 cm long insertion tube allows the enema fluid to penetrate deeper
- The flexibility of the tube and the rounded cone of the closure piece prevent injury to the intestinal mucosa
- Defecation occurs within a few minutes of use
Composition per 100 ml:
- Sodium dihydrogen phosphate: 16 g
- Sodium monohydrogen phosphate: 6 g
- p-Hydroxybenzoic acid methyl ester: 0.1 g
- p-Hydroxybenzoic acid propyl ester: 0.01 g
- Purified water
