How do the ingredients of the medicine work?
Cetirzine: The active ingredient helps with allergies and soothes itching. It suppresses the effect of the body's own substance histamine and prostaglandins in two ways: Firstly, it inhibits the release of the substances from the mast cells (special defence cells) of the blood and tissue; secondly, it displaces the substances from their binding sites. As tissue hormones and messenger substances, histamine and prostaglandins play an important role in the development of inflammation and allergic reactions.
Pseudoephedrine: Dilated blood vessels in the nasal mucosa are constricted, which results in reduced blood flow and thus causes the mucous membranes to decongest.
