How do the ingredients of the medicine work?
Dexpanthenol: The active ingredient heals injured skin and mucous membranes. It is structurally related to pantothenic acid, a vitamin that is involved in important metabolic processes in the body. Damaged skin or mucous membranes lack pantothenic acid. The medicine containing the active ingredient, which is converted into pantothenic acid in the body, compensates for the missing vitamin and the wound can close more quickly.Chlorhexidine: The active ingredient kills various bacteria by destroying the cell wall of the microorganisms. In this way, it keeps the skin and mucous membranes germ-free and thus disinfects them. However, the effect wears off after prolonged use.
