Erler Zimmer canine bladder ultrasound trainer in detail
This model for examining the abdomen of a medium-sized dog provides holistic training for ultrasound examination of the canine bladder. It contains four different modules that cover the most important diagnostic procedures and thus enable diagnostic training. As the diseases usually show similar symptoms, ultrasound examination is crucial to make an accurate diagnosis. Despite outward similarities, the different modules require diagnostic skills to recognise pathologies.
The following modules are included in this training model:
- Normal anatomy and cystocentesis: This module enables localisation of the bladder using ultrasound and identification of the anatomy. The bladder can be punctured and the material has self-healing properties, making the puncture channels self-sealing to a certain extent. This module can be filled with water and is available as a spare part.
- Bladder stones: Undiagnosed bladder stones cause significant pain in animals and can even be fatal. This module allows users to locate and recognise bladder stones using ultrasound, teaching them what they look like in ultrasound images.
- Bladder cancer: Bladder cancer can be very painful and life-threatening. With this module, users can practice identifying the location of a tumour using ultrasound.
- Bladder inflammation (cystitis): Bacterial infections of the lower urinary tract are usually painful and require urgent treatment. With this module, users learn how to recognise and diagnose cystitis.
