The ôl comes from the peppermint plant. Peppermint preparations relieve cramps in the gastrointestinal tract, have a flatulent effect and stimulate bile flow and appetite. They inhibit the growth of germs. By stimulating cold receptors on the skin, the ingredients block pain receptors and cool swollen mucous membranes. When peppermint oil is inhaled, it has an antitussive effect and liquefies stuck mucus.
