This product is a solution that is held vertically and contains a 5% concentration of iodine. A single drop of this solution corresponds to a dose of 6.5 mg iodine. The product has a CAS number of 12298-68-9 and an EC number of 235-567-5. All ingredients and raw materials have been tested according to the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.). Other names for this product are also known, such as Lugol's solution, iodine-potassium iodide solution, potassium triiodide and Lugol's iodine solution. The ingredients consist of 85% water, 10% potassium iodide and 5% iodine. These are produced from potassium iodide (Ph. Eur.), iodine (Ph. Eur.) and double-distilled water (Ph. Eur.).
