How does the active ingredient of the medicine work?
Bifonazole is effective against fungal diseases. The active ingredient damages the outer envelope, the so-called cell membrane of fungi. This envelope thus loses some of its functions, e.g. it becomes more impermeable to nutrients - the cell starves, or cell components leak out and the cell dissolves. Depending on the concentration of the active ingredient, the fungi are inhibited in their growth and reproduction or killed directly. The active ingredient is also effective against certain bacteria.Application
- Fungal infections with filamentous fungi (dermatophytes) and other fungi, such as:- Fungal infections of the skin
- Fungal infections in the body folds
- Athlete's foot- Nail fungus
- Fungal infections between the toes or fingers (interdigital mycosis)
- Fungal infections on the palms of the hands
- Fungal infections with yeasts, such as:
- Fungal infections of the skin
- Skin lichen caused by bran fungus (pityriasis versicolor)
- Dwarf lichen (erythrasma) (skin infection with certain bacteria)
There are various pathogens that can cause disease. Only a doctor can decide whether the medicine is effective against the infection in question.
