This model is an extremely helpful tool for understanding the differences between the histology of arteries and veins. It provides a detailed visualisation of two veins and one artery. One of the veins is cut longitudinally and shows the venous valves in both open and closed states. The artery and the second vein show the different layers such as the tunica media, membrana elastica and tunica adventitia in cross-section. The model is mounted on a base.
