Erler Zimmer transparent laryngopharynx model in detail
This three-dimensional representation of the laryngopharynx is transparent and shows the entire area from oropharynx to hypopharynx. It is a useful model for explaining the complex structure of the laryngopharynx and is particularly suitable for training professionals in swallowing therapy or for educating patients and their relatives.
Features:
- The model can be split in the middle.
- The epiglottis, piriform sinus and glottis are carefully reproduced and the depth of the piriform sinus in the laryngeal vestibule can be clearly demonstrated.
- The complex three-dimensional structure of the laryngopharynx can be intuitively understood through visualisation. The flow of food can be viewed from the outside (real liquids can be used).
- The importance of meal preparation and eating position can be conveyed by understanding the three-dimensional structure of the laryngopharynx. The difficulty of coughing up accidentally swallowed food can be explained.
- The model can be used to anatomically illustrate the position of the endoscope during video endoscopic examination of the swallowing process.
- The closure of the oesophagus can be shown with a line to create a mental image.
