Indication
Mucofalk® Apple Granules contain Indian psyllium husks, a herbal swelling agent for stool regulation. It is used for chronic constipation, easier bowel evacuation in the case of anal fissures and haemorrhoids, as well as for diarrhoea and irritable bowel syndrome.
Dosage and application
- Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over: Stir the contents of one sachet into plenty of liquid (at least 150 ml) 2-3 times a day and take.
- For the supportive treatment of diarrhoea and irritable bowel syndrome:
- Adolescents from 12 to 15 years: 2-4 times daily the contents of one sachet.
- Adolescents from 16 years of age and adults: 2-6 times daily the contents of one sachet.
Method of use
- Never take dry.
- Pour the contents of the sachet into a glass, fill up with at least 150 ml of liquid (water, fruit juice), stir quickly and drink immediately.
- Drink another glass of liquid.
- Do not take when lying down or immediately before going to bed.
Side effects
- Flatulence and bloating, which usually subside in the course of treatment.
- In case of insufficient fluid intake: risk of hard stools, intestinal obstruction and blockage of the oesophagus.
- Possible hypersensitivity reactions such as runny nose, reddening of the eyes, breathing difficulties and skin reactions.
Contraindications
- Do not take if you are allergic to psyllium or its ingredients, if there is a sudden change in bowel habits, if the cause of blood in the stool has not been clarified, if there is a narrowing of the gastrointestinal tract, oesophageal disease, or if there is a risk of intestinal obstruction.
Warnings and precautions
- Take each dose with at least 150 ml of liquid.
- Do not use in case of constipation with unclear abdominal complaints or known swallowing problems.
- In case of chest pain, vomiting, difficulty swallowing or breathing, consult a doctor immediately.
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible if a change in diet is not successful.
