The Weinmann MEDUtrigger MEDUMAT Easy CPR for the patient circuit system is a unique device that allows ventilator breaths to be triggered individually. This is particularly important in emergency situations such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation and induction of anaesthesia. The MEDUtrigger can be used with the MEDUMAT EasyCPR, MEDUMAT Standard² and MEDUVENT Standard emergency ventilators. The device is attached directly to the mask and connected to the ventilator via an electrical cable.
The ventilation breaths are triggered by pressing a button on the MEDUtrigger. A long press triggers two breaths in succession, in accordance with international guidelines (30:2). By using the MEDUtrigger, the mask can be sealed simultaneously with the two-handed C-handle, which means that only one user is required to ventilate the patient safely. It also improves patient care by reducing leakage.
The MEDUtrigger offers several advantages, including the ability to flexibly trigger individual breaths and connect the patient to a mechanical ventilator with all its benefits. By attaching the MEDUtrigger directly to the mask, ventilation breaths can be sealed with both hands and triggered with one thumb. By pressing and holding the MEDUtrigger button, two breaths are administered in succession in accordance with international guidelines. The two breaths are administered in a maximum of five seconds, which ensures rapid treatment. As soon as manual ventilation is no longer required, it is easy to switch to continuous ventilation.
