The Weinmann secretion cap for MANUVAC is an innovative solution to prevent the aspirated secretion from overflowing into the suction pump.
It is important to keep the secretion canister horizontal during use and to point the secretion cap upwards. In certain situations, however, the secretion canister can also be held vertically or at an angle. However, care should always be taken to ensure that the secretion cap is pointing upwards.
If the secretion cap is accidentally held downwards, the overflow protection automatically blocks the connection to the suction pump. In such a case, the secretion cap must be pointed upwards again immediately. To continue the suction process, the red venting tab on the secretion cap can be opened until the ball lock has returned to its original position.
