The information provided here is based primarily on side effects that occur in at least one in 1,000 patients treated.
- In case of pain or fever, do not use for longer than specified in the package leaflet without medical advice!
- The habitual use of painkillers can lead to permanent kidney damage. If several painkillers are combined or if several active ingredients are contained in one painkiller, the risk is increased.
- In children and adolescents with febrile illnesses, the medicine should only be given on medical advice. Reye's syndrome, a rare but life-threatening condition in which prolonged vomiting occurs, may occur.
- Caution: Patients with nasal polyps, chronic respiratory tract infections, asthma or a tendency to allergic reactions such as hay fever: the medicine may trigger an asthma attack or a severe allergic skin reaction. Therefore, consult your doctor before use.
- Prolonged use of painkillers can cause headaches, which are caused by the painkiller. Talk to your doctor to prevent your headaches from becoming chronic.
- Before an operation - including minor procedures such as tooth extraction - stop taking/using the medicine, as the bleeding time may be prolonged.
- Take care if you are allergic to binding agents (e.g. carboxymethylcellulose with the E number E 466)!
- Caution in case of allergy to ascorbic acid (vitamin C)!
- Caution in case of allergy to colourings (e.g. tartrazine (E 102), yellow-orange S (E 110), azorubin (E 122), amaranth (E 123) and Ponceau 4R (E 124)).
- Aspartame/phenylalanine may be harmful to patients with phenylketonuria.
- There may be medicines with which interactions occur. You should therefore generally inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other medicine you are already taking before starting treatment with a new medicine. This also applies to medicines that you buy yourself, use only occasionally or have been using for some time.
- Alcohol consumption should be avoided as far as possible during long-term treatment. Occasional consumption of alcohol in small quantities is permitted, but not together with the medication.
How does the active ingredient of the medicine work?

The active ingredient has an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effect. It blocks the formation of certain messenger substances in the body, known as prostaglandins. These are significantly involved in the development of pain, fever and inflammation.
Blood clotting is also influenced by acetylsalicylic acid. The substance prevents the blood platelets (thrombocytes) from clumping together and thus improves the fluidity of the blood.
