Application:
The nystatin cream is specially formulated for the treatment of nappy thrush on sore skin. It contains 20 mg nystatin per gram and is used to combat weeping yeast infections of the skin. The cream should be applied thinly to the affected areas of skin three to five times a day.
Ingredients:
- Active ingredient: 20 mg nystatin per gram
- Excipients: Base gel, hydrophobic; PEG-4 dioleate; highly dispersed silicon dioxide; poly(O-methyl) rice starch; sodium chloride; sorbitan sesquioleate; sorbitan stearate; titanium dioxide
Indication:
Nystatin cream is an agent against yeast infections of the skin, especially in nappy dermatitis.
Dosage:
The cream should be applied thinly and evenly to the affected areas of skin three to five times a day in accordance with the doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
Duration of treatment:
The average duration of treatment is two to three weeks. If you have any questions about the effect or application, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Side effects:
As with all medicines, side effects may occur when using Nystatin Cream, although not everybody gets them. Possible side effects may include itching, burning or allergic reactions. If side effects occur, use of the cream should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.
Contraindications:
The use of nystatin cream is contraindicated in cases of known hypersensitivity (allergy) to nystatin or any of the other ingredients.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
A doctor should be consulted before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, although nystatin is considered safe.
Interactions:
No interactions with other medicines are known to date, however you should inform your doctor or pharmacist of all medicines taken.
