What should you be aware of?

- Take care if you are allergic to fungicides (e.g. clotrimazole)!
- Emulsifiers (e.g. cetyl/stearyl alcohol) can cause skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis).
- There may be medicines with which interactions occur. You should therefore generally inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other medicines you are already using before starting treatment with a new medicine. This also applies to medicines that you buy yourself, use only occasionally or have been using for some time.

How does the active ingredient of the medicine work?

The active ingredient damages the outer envelope, the so-called cell membrane of fungi. This envelope thus loses some of its functions, e.g. it becomes more impermeable to nutrients - the cell starves, or cell components leak out and the cell dissolves. Depending on the concentration of the active ingredient, the fungi are inhibited in their growth and reproduction or killed directly. The active ingredient is also effective against certain bacteria.
