D-Galactose, also known as mucilage sugar, is a natural simple sugar found in milk, dairy products and other foods. It is also obtained through plant fermentation. Even as infants, we absorb D-galactose through breast milk, which is important for our development.
D-galactose can be absorbed directly into our blood without having to be digested further. It has no effect on insulin levels and is very well tolerated.
