Product description:
The arteriosclerosis model, 4-part, represents a four-stage cross-section of a human artery, showing the progressive build-up of fatty deposits (cholesterol) and the formation of plaque through to vascular occlusion. It simulates the diminishing elasticity of a real artery and consists of four parts that are connected to each other. The models are movable but cannot be disassembled.
The arteriosclerosis model shows the following stages:
- Healthy (soft)
- Stage 1 (firm)
- Stage 2 (firm)
- Stage 3 (hard)
The narrowing of the vessels leads to a reduction in blood flow, which can ultimately lead to vascular occlusion by a thrombus.
