Duration of use?
You should only use the medicine for a short time without medical advice. If your symptoms persist or recur regularly, you should consult your doctor.
Overdosage?
Overdosing can lead to diarrhoea and loss of fluids and salt, among other things. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor immediately.
As a general rule: Pay particular attention to conscientious dosing for infants, small children and older people. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist about any effects or precautionary measures.
A dosage prescribed by a doctor may differ from the information in the package leaflet. Since the doctor will adjust it individually, you should therefore use the medicine according to his instructions.
Storage before opening
The medicine must be stored away from moisture (e.g. in a tightly closed container).
Storage after opening or preparation
The medicinal product may be used for a maximum of 12 months after opening/preparation!
After opening/preparation, the medicinal product must
- at room temperature
- protected from moisture (e.g. in a tightly closed container)!
What speaks against use?
Always:
- Hypersensitivity to the ingredients
- Abdominal pain of unknown cause
- Intestinal obstruction
- Constriction in the digestive tract
- Appendicitis
- Lack of fluids
Under certain circumstances - talk to your doctor or pharmacist about this:
- Inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases that are acute
- Disorders of the fluid and salt balance
- Impaired kidney function
Which age group should be considered?
- Children under 4 years of age: The medicine must not be used.
- Children aged 4 years and over: The medicine may only be used after consultation with a doctor or under medical supervision.
What about pregnancy and breastfeeding?
- Pregnancy: According to current knowledge, the medicinal product should not be used.
- Lactation: According to current knowledge, there are no indications that the medicinal product should not be used during lactation.
If you have been prescribed the medicine despite a contraindication, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. The therapeutic benefit may be greater than the risk associated with use in the case of a contraindication.what adverse effects can occur?
- Gastrointestinal complaints, such as
- nausea
- vomiting
- diarrhoea
- flatulence
- abdominal pain
- abdominal cramps

- Only use laxative medicines for a short time without a doctor's recommendation. Longer-term use may lead to chronic constipation and/or other problems. If there is no success after short-term use, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
- Caution: Laxatives are not suitable for weight loss.
- Take care if you are intolerant to fructose (fruit sugar). If you have to follow a diabetes diet, you should take the sugar content into account.
- There may be medicines with which interactions occur. You should therefore generally inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other medicines you are already taking before starting treatment with a new medicine. This also applies to medicines that you buy yourself, use only occasionally or have been using for some time.
How does the active ingredient of the medicine work?
The active ingredient prevents water and salts from being removed from the intestinal contents. At the same time, it promotes the flow of water and salts into the intestine. This increases the volume of the intestinal contents and makes them softer, which leads to an urge to defecate and easier defecation.
