B. Braun arterial catheter sets in detail
The Arteriofix and Arteriofix V arterial catheter sets from B. Braun are used for invasive blood pressure measurement and blood sampling using the Seldinger technique. The sets include:
- Introduction cannula (made of stainless steel)
- Smooth insertion of the guide wire
- On guide wire, catheter diameter and puncture site
- with Luer lock attachment
- guide wire (made of stainless steel)
- with flexible tip
- adapted to the respective inner diameter of the catheter
- catheter (made of FEP)
- for pressure transmission with good puncture & physical material properties
- blood and tissue resistant
- with smooth surfaces - prevents thrombus formation
- moulded tip facilitates insertion
- good gliding properties when inserting FEPcatheters
- fixing wings on the hub
- colour-coded Luer lock hub
The Arteriofix V catheter is used for pressure transmission and offers a new valve, which opens automatically during connection with pressure tubes and closes automatically during disconnection. Thanks to its high tightness, blood reflux is prevented and handling is simplified. The fixation wings are soft, adapt to the skin and are made of PUR. Fixation is facilitated by the three suture holes. The integrated kink protection at the transition from the wing to the capillary ensures stability. The 7 cm long PUR connecting tube allows a greater distance between the puncture and connection site, which provides strain relief at the puncture site during connection.
