Berk Ganesh antique in detail
Ganesha, the most popular of all Indian gods, is known as the son of Parvati and Shiva. According to legend, Shiva withdrew to meditate and Parvati created a son out of solitude. When Shiva returned, he was mutilated out of anger by cutting off the boy's head. After realising what he had done, Shiva ordered the head of the first person who passed by to be placed on Ganesha's body to bring him back to life. This head belonged to an elephant - and so a new god was born, uniting the powers of Shiva and Parvati.
Ganesha is said to remove all obstacles. That is why he is often invoked before any endeavour. He brings material and spiritual prosperity and is therefore considered the patron saint of business people. But Ganesha should also be present at every new beginning, be it a move or a new job, as he blesses the new situation and promises good luck.
