Product description

Berk Nataraj, 50 cm in detail

Shiva, whose name means "kind" or "merciful", combines many different characteristics. He is both benevolent and mischievous, meditative and ecstatic. Shiva is a god of the universe and yet has a special fondness for certain earthly places such as Mount Kailash and the city of Benares.

He is worshipped in various guises, for example as a great yogi who practises asceticism or devotes himself to meditation. Shiva is also the great ruler of the world and is worshipped as the Lord of Dance, Nataraj. In this form, he dances over ignorance and destroys everything that is not based on truth and love.

We are currently experiencing a great period of purification on our planet, and Shiva Nataraj symbolises this phase. The artwork is made of brass, is 50 cm high and weighs 8 kg.
