Camu Camu is a powerful berry from the Amazon region that is valued for its extremely high vitamin C content and strong antioxidant properties. With a vitamin C content of around 30 to 60 times more than an orange, this fruit supports collagen formation and offers a variety of other important nutrients. These include antioxidants, amino acids, B vitamins, calcium, iron, phosphorus and potassium.
The plant grows in the rainforests of Peru, Brazil, Venezuela and Colombia and bears cherry-sized fruit with a yellowish to red skin and a sour flavour.
