Cleartest® HBsAg hepatitis B rapid test in detail
The CLEARTEST® HBsAg Rapid Test is a chromatographic immunoassay that rapidly and qualitatively detects hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in human whole blood, serum or plasma. With a detection limit of 500 ng/ml, it supports the diagnosis of HBsAg infection and is intended for use by trained laboratory personnel.
Viral hepatitis, a systemic disease, mainly affects the liver and is often caused by hepatitis A, B or C viruses. HBsAg, a complex antigen on the surface of the hepatitis B virus (HBV), persists for years in chronic HBV infections and is detectable in serum. The test works with monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies to selectively detect elevated HBsAg levels.
