Selenium is an essential element for your health. It was discovered in 1817 by the Swedish chemist Jöns Jakob Berzelius and named after the moon goddess in Greek mythology "Selene". As a vital trace element, selenium is an important component of enzymes and is involved in various processes in the body. It has an antioxidant effect and protects our cells from oxidative stress by scavenging free radicals. Selenium is also important for the function of the thyroid gland, as it is necessary for the production of thyroid hormones and supports the activation of thyroxine to triiodothyronine, one of the important hormones of the thyroid gland.
Selenium also contributes to normal sperm production, the maintenance of normal hair and nails, the normal function of the immune system and normal thyroid function.
The selenium tablets contain 200µg selenium per tablet (highly dosed on the basis of selenium yeast) and are vegan. In addition to selenium yeast, other ingredients include microcrystalline cellulose as a filler. It is recommended to take one tablet daily with sufficient liquid.
