Treatment with duloxetine, a prescription-only medicine.
Active substances:
- Duloxetine hydrochloride: 33.68 mg
Excipients:
- Hypromellose
- hypromellose phthalate
- triethyl citrate
- Sugar-starch pellets
- Printing ink, black, containing propylene glycol
- gelatine
- sucrose
- titanium dioxide
- indigo carmine
- talcum
Indications:
- Depressive disorders
- Generalised anxiety disorder
- Pain in diabetic neuropathy
Dosage:
- 60 mg once daily for depressive disorders and diabetic neuropathy pain
- Starting dose 30 mg once daily for generalised anxiety disorder, then usually 60 mg daily, with the possibility of increasing the dose to 120 mg per day
- Duration of treatment and changes in dosage should be discussed with the doctor
Side effects:
- Headache, drowsiness, nausea, dry mouth
Interactions:
- Inform your doctor of all medications taken, especially MAO inhibitors, other antidepressants and tranquillisers
Contraindications:
- Do not take in case of known allergy to duloxetine, liver or kidney disease, concomitant use of MAO inhibitors or certain other medications
Warnings and precautions:
- Discuss with your doctor before use if you are taking other medications, have kidney disease, epilepsy or glaucoma
- Duloxetine may increase restlessness, sexual dysfunction and thoughts of self-harm
Ability to drive and operate machinery:
- Duloxetine may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so take care when driving and operating machinery
