This lumbar puncture simulator has been developed by medical education professionals to improve the process of learning the technique of lumbar puncture. It allows you, as a doctor or student, to practise lumbar puncture frequently and thus achieve a higher level of skill without putting patients at risk.
Features:
- Accurately simulates lumbar anatomy, including anatomical landmarks.
- Provides a realistic feel for skin and tissue resistance to the spinal needle.
- Allows students to draw CSF and measure CSF pressure under clinically realistic conditions.
- Includes a separate anatomical model of the lumbar spine to better understand the anatomical conditions.
- The transparent puncture block allows direct tracking of the anatomy and the path of the spinal needle. Six blocks are supplied: two normal, one for obese patients, one for geriatric patients, one for geriatric/obese patients and one for epidural anaesthesia.
- Three different positioning aids are included to support both seated and lateral positions as well as group training.
- A detailed manual on the relevant anatomy, physiology, indications and performance of lumbar puncture is included. It also contains a guide to CSF analysis and risk management during lumbar puncture.
