Emser salt in a sachet in detail

Indication:

Emser Salt is a salt-containing local therapeutic agent for the treatment of respiratory diseases, especially acute and chronic inflammation of the nasal cavity.

Active ingredients:

  • 2950 mg natural Emser salt

Indications:

  • Support treatment by moisturising, cleansing and decongesting the nasal mucosa.
  • For acute infections of the upper respiratory tract.
  • For chronic rhinosinusitis.
  • After endonasal sinus surgery to accelerate the healing process.

Dosage and application:

  • Emser salt must be dissolved in water before use.
  • Usual concentration: 2.95 g in 250 ml water.
  • Nasal rinsing: 1-3 times daily with 100-300 ml isoosmotic solution for adults and children from 3 years of age.
  • Inhalation: 3-4 times daily with a suitable nebuliser, 10-15 minutes inhalation time.

Instructions for preparing the solution:

  • For nebulisation: use distilled water.
  • For nasal rinsing: tap water (drinking water quality, preferably lukewarm).
  • After endonasal procedures: boiled tap water.

Side effects:

  • Occasional: Mild irritation symptoms such as tingling, burning, headache.
  • Very rare: Short-term nosebleeds.

Interactions and contraindications:

  • No known interactions.
  • Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to ingredients, injuries to the nasal roof, strong tendency to nosebleeds.

Special instructions:

  • Suitable for all age groups, pregnant and breastfeeding women.
  • Caution is advised for patients with bronchial asthma.
  • Contains sodium and potassium ions, caution with corresponding diets.
