What is a perfusor pump?
A perfusor pump is a system that administered infusions in a certain amount within a set time.
Thanks to such a system, the manual injections are omitted. Modern perfusor pumps have numerous security functions:
- Low pressure sensor: Check whether the patient's vein is blocked or the line is kept.
- Up pressure function: Recognizes automatically when the syringe or the bag is empty.
- Air-in-line detector: Determine when air is pumped and stops the medication debt
Modern systems are therefore very safe and ideal for use in medical practices, hospitals or in the emergency services.
When is a perfusor pump used?
- In the case of medication that is intravenously (directly into a vein), subcutaneously (under the skin), are administered arterial (in an artery) or epidural (between two vertebral bodies).
- For regular administration of artificial nutrition
A perfusor pump offers you these advantages
Regular administration of medication is made easier: Medicines often have to be injected at certain intervals (for example once per minute) or in constantly changing doses. With a perfusor pump, this work can be automated and even inevitable for several hours or days.
Patients can control painkillers themselves: With a perfusor pump, your patients can independently adapt the dosage of the medication to their needs. As a doctor, you save time and can prevent an overdose thanks to the built -in security functions.
Lower your risk of an unintentional overdose: If you give medication manually there is always a risk of an unintentional overdose, especially in children. Since a perfusor pump calculates the correct dosage for you when entering the most important parameters (e.g. the weight), lower your risk.
What do you have to pay attention to when buying a perfusor pump?
Place on a perfusor pump with high -quality battery: Perfusor pumps are often used in emergency medicine (for example in an ambulance). The battery must work so that the medication can be really administered in an emergency. It is therefore best to buy a device with a high -quality lithium ion battery.
Make sure that the device is programming: In order for the administration of medication or artificial food to take place as automatically as possible and you really save time, the necessary doses must be programmable.
Check whether the device can digitally record and document the medication distribution: Book must be carried out exactly about all medication that is administered to a patient. With modern perfusor pumps, this work can be almost completely automated and all you have to do is check whether the information is correct.
Make sure the perfusor pumps can be stackable: For space -saving storage, your pumps should be stacked on top of each other.
