Syrup for infants and children for pain and fever
For the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and/or fever. Should not be used for longer than specified in the package leaflet without medical advice.
Active substances and excipients:
- Active substance: 200 mg paracetamol
- Excipients: Yellow orange S, cream flavouring, xanthan gum, purified water, sodium citrate, sucrose, citric acid, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate
Indication:
- Analgesic and antipyretic (analgesic and antipyretic).
- For the treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever.
Dosage:
- Observe dosage according to body weight and age of the child.
- Single dose: 10-15 mg/kg body weight.
- Maximum 60 mg/kg body weight per day, dose interval at least 6 hours.
- Do not use for longer than 3 days without medical advice.
Special patient groups:
- Liver and kidney dysfunction: Dose adjustment required.
- Elderly patients: Possible dose reduction in case of impaired function.
- Pregnant and breastfeeding women: Use only after consultation with a doctor.
Duration of use:
- Do not take for longer than 3 days without medical advice.
Overdose:
- Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain. In case of overdose, contact a doctor immediately.
Interactions:
- Caution with concomitant use of drugs such as probenecid, phenobarbital, phenytoin, rifampicin, and with HIV drugs such as zidovudine.
Contraindications:
- Allergy to paracetamol or any of the ingredients.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
- Paracetamol can be used during pregnancy, but should be used at the lowest possible dose. It is generally safe to use during breastfeeding.
Patient information:
- In case of chronic alcoholism, liver or kidney disease, malnutrition or other specific health conditions, use only after consulting a doctor.
Roadworthiness:
- Paracetamol has no significant influence on the ability to drive or operate machinery.
