Product details & mandatory information

Vomex A Children 40mg in detail

The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

Method of administration?

Insert the medicine into the rectum. Empty the bowel beforehand if possible. To improve lubrication, you can moisten the suppositories slightly with cold water.

Duration of use?

The duration of use depends on the nature of the symptoms and/or the course of the disease.

Overdose?

An overdose can lead to drowsiness, impaired consciousness, hallucinations and cardiovascular disorders, among other things. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor immediately.
In general: Pay particular attention to conscientious dosing, especially with infants, small children and the elderly. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist about any effects or precautions.
A dosage prescribed by a doctor may differ from the information on the package leaflet. As the doctor will adjust it individually, you should therefore use the medicine according to his instructions.

Storage

The medicine must be stored away from heat.

What are the reasons for not using it?

- Pregnancy: Consult your doctor. Various considerations play a role in whether and how the medicine can be used during pregnancy.
- Breastfeeding: Based on current knowledge, use is not recommended. Breastfeeding may need to be considered.

What you should be aware of?

- Reactivity may be impaired even when used as directed, especially at higher doses or in combination with alcohol. Pay particular attention when driving or operating machinery (including household machinery) that could cause injury.
- Avoid excessive UV radiation, e.g. in solariums or during extended sunbathing, as the skin reacts more sensitively during use of the medicine.
- Sudden discontinuation may cause problems or discomfort. Treatment should therefore be stopped slowly, i.e. by gradually reducing the dose. It is best to seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist.
- Caution: If you use the medicine for a long time, the body may become accustomed to it and you may need an increasingly higher dosage to feel an effect.
- There may be medicines with which interactions occur. You should therefore always tell your doctor or pharmacist about any other medicine you are already taking before starting treatment with a new medicine. This also applies to medicines that you buy yourself, only use occasionally or have been using for some time.

How does the active ingredient of the medicine work?

The active ingredient blocks receptors for a certain messenger substance called histamine. This blockade suppresses vasodilation and increased blood flow in the smallest hair vessels (capillaries) triggered by histamine. It also combats nausea via the same mechanism and has a calming effect.
