B. Braun Monoplus® suture material in detail
The MonoPlus® suture material is made of poly-p-dioxanone and is a long-lasting, resorbable, monofilament suture material. It is used specifically in orthopaedics, traumatology and visceral surgery. It can also be used in cardiac and vascular surgery in children and autologous peripheral vessels. Depending on the suture thickness, around 50 to 70 % of the original tensile strength remains 28 days after implantation. Most of the resorption takes place after approx. 180 to 210 days.
