Erler Zimmer Bonnie bone marrow biopsy trainer in detail
The Bonnie bone marrow biopsy trainer was specially developed as a practical training tool for clinical staff. It enables the realistic simulation of a bone marrow biopsy on the posterior iliac crest. The trainer has a lifelike size and anatomy based on an average sized female pelvis and lower spine. The outer shell feels soft and tissue-like. This allows the bony landmarks such as the spinous process and the anterior and posterior iliac crests to be palpated for precise placement of the biopsy needle.
To simulate treating patients in the lateral decubitus position, the trainer can be set up with the included tilt stand or placed on a table surface to mimic the prone position. The right and left iliac crest bones are removable and interchangeable and contain simulated bone marrow. Additionally, an interchangeable skin insert is included at the puncture site, allowing multiple needle sticks to be performed.
The Bonnie Bone Marrow Biopsy Trainer comes with a carrying case and also includes the following parts: a pelvic bone structure on a base with tilt stand, six sets of interchangeable bone inserts for the posterior iliac crest and a body skin tray.
