Clotrimazole AL 1% in detail
Clotrimazole AL 1% cream is used to treat fungal infections of the skin, especially athlete's foot and skin folds.
Active ingredient:
10 mg clotrimazole per 1 g cream.
Excipients:
Benzyl alcohol, cetylstearyl alcohol, purified water, octyldodecanol, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate.
Mode of action:
Clotrimazole acts as an antifungal by attacking the cell membrane of the fungi and stopping their growth. This helps to eliminate the infection and relieve symptoms such as itching and burning.
Application:
The cream should be applied thinly to the affected areas of skin 2 to 3 times a day and gently rubbed in. Treatment should be continued for at least 4 weeks, even if the symptoms have already subsided, to prevent a relapse.
Prevention:
To prevent fungal infections, it is important to avoid humid and warm conditions, practise regular foot hygiene and wear breathable clothing.
