Cleartest® Albu-Mic kidney function test strips in detail
The CLEARTEST® Albu-Mic is an immunochemical test strip for the qualitative detection of small amounts of albumin in urine. A high albumin level can indicate kidney dysfunction and is an important diagnostic indicator for impending heart attacks, diabetes and high blood pressure. Even a low level of protein excretion in the urine (micro-albuminuria) can indicate impaired kidney function and is particularly important for diabetics and people with high blood pressure. Early detection and treatment of kidney disease can preserve kidney function in the long term and prevent possible heart attacks. Therefore, diabetics and people with high blood pressure should have their urine tested for albumin and micro-albuminuria at least once a year, otherwise every two years. An albumin test is an excellent tool for checking the state of health, and further measures should be taken if levels exceed 10 mg/litre.
