Berk Ganesh with mouse in detail
Ganesha is one of the most popular Indian gods. He is considered to be the son of Parvati and Shiva. According to legend, Shiva retired to meditate and Parvati created a son to alleviate her loneliness. When Shiva returned, however, he was so angry that he cut off the son's head. When he realised what he had done, he ordered the head of the first living creature that passed by to be placed on the son's body to revive him. This creature was an elephant - thus a new god was born who combined the powers of Shiva and Parvati.
Ganesha is often invoked to remove obstacles from the way. He is a patron saint for business people and ensures material and spiritual prosperity. With every new start, be it a move or a new job, it is important to ask Ganesha for blessings, as he promises luck and success.
