exspot® is a highly effective product for the treatment and prevention of flea and tick infestations in dogs. It offers effective protection against fleas (Ctenocephalides felis, Ctenocephalides canis) and ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) and can also be used in a treatment programme against flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).
Fields of application:
- Flea control: Effective against flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis, Ctenocephalides canis).
- Tick defence: Combats tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus).
- Prevention: Protects against reinfestation by fleas and ticks for a period of 2 to 4 weeks after application.
- Treatment of Flea Allergic Dermatitis (FAD): Can be integrated into a treatment programme to control flea dermatitis.
Active substances and ingredients:
- Active ingredient: permethrin 715 mg/ml
- Other ingredient: 1-methoxypropan-2-ol ad 1 ml
- Appearance: Clear, dark yellow solution
Dosage and application:
The dosage depends on the body weight of the dog. The product is applied directly to the skin, between the shoulder blades and at the base of the tail. For larger dogs, the product is also distributed along the back.
Dosage:
- Up to 15 kg: 1 ml (1 pipette) between the shoulder blades - Permethrin: 286 mg/kg body weight
- 15 to under 30 kg: 2 ml (1 pipette between the shoulder blades, 1 pipette in the tail root area) - permethrin: 95.3 mg/kg body weight
- Over 30 kg: 3 ml (1 pipette between the shoulder blades, 1 pipette in the tail root area, 1 pipette in the centre of the back) - Permethrin: 71.5 mg/kg body weight

- Duration of protection: A single application protects against further flea and tick infestations for a period of 2 to 4 weeks.
