Product details & mandatory information
Erler Zimmer lumbar puncture exercise model in detail
This product provides you with realistic tactile feedback by using a fluid supply and pressure system. It allows you to draw cerebrospinal fluid and measure the opening pressure. It is ideal for practising local anaesthetic injections, aseptic procedures, needle insertion into the intervertebral spaces, lumbar punctures and epidural anaesthesia.
Functions:
- The spinal cord can be exchanged and contains dermal layer, subcutaneous layer, connective tissue and lumbar vertebrae.
- The anatomical elements include iliac crests, lumbar vertebrae from L2 to L5, ligamentum flavum, epidural space and dura.
- It is possible to insert the needle into the intervertebral spaces.
- There is a lifelike resistance of the needle, including a cracking sound when the needle hits the ligamentum flavum and the dura.
- The skin is self-healing and can withstand 15 uses with an 18 G needle and 25 uses with a 22 G needle before it needs to be replaced.
- The artificial cerebrospinal fluid is easy to fill and the fluid pressure can be adjusted effortlessly. This allows the learner to draw cerebrospinal fluid and measure the cerebrospinal fluid opening pressure.
- The pressure system can be controlled with simple buttons to increase or decrease the pressure.
- An LED display shows the desired pressure value, which can range from low to medium to high pressure.
- The exercise procedure can be performed in the left lateral or sitting position.
- The exercise model can be used to simulate aseptic procedures and puncture sites for local anaesthesia.
