Berk Ganesh in detail
Ganesha is possibly the most famous of all Indian gods. He is considered to be the son of Parvati and Shiva. According to legend, Shiva withdrew to meditate and out of loneliness Parvati created a son. When Shiva returned, he was seized with anger and cut off Ganesha's head. When he realised what he had done, he ordered the head of the first person who passed by to be placed on Ganesha's body to revive him. This head was that of an elephant - a new god was born, uniting the powers of Shiva and Parvati.
It is said that Ganesha clears all obstacles out of the way. For this reason, he is often invoked before all kinds of endeavours. He ensures material and spiritual prosperity and is therefore regarded as the patron saint of business people. But Ganesha should also be present at every new beginning, be it a move or a new job, as he blesses the new situation and brings good luck.
Ganesha has four arms that represent the four aspects of the subtle body: Mind, ego, spirit and consciousness.
