Berk Ganesha, 23 cm in detail
Ganesha is one of the most famous Indian gods. He is regarded as the son of Parvati and Shiva. According to legend, Shiva withdrew to meditate and Parvati created a son out of loneliness. When Shiva returned, his head was cut off because of his anger. When he realised what he had done, he ordered the head of the first person to pass by to be placed on Ganesha's body to revive him. This first person was an elephant - a new god was born, uniting the power of Shiva and Parvati.
It is said that Ganesha removes all obstacles. For this reason, he is often invoked before starting any endeavour. He ensures material and spiritual prosperity and is therefore considered the patron saint of business people. But Ganesha should also be present at every new beginning, be it a move or a new job, as he blesses the new situation and brings good luck.
Ganesha has four arms that represent the four aspects of the subtle body: Mind, Ego, Spirit and Consciousness.
