Cleartest® Humanofecal stool test in detail
The Cleartest® Human Fecal is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of low concentrations of occult blood (FOB) in human faeces, with a detection limit of 10 ng/ml and a sample loading of 3 drops. Results are available after 5 minutes and the test can be stored at temperatures between 2 and 30 °C.
Advantages over other faecal tests:
- Specificity: detects only human blood in faeces and avoids false positive results from animal blood, vegetables, fruits and drugs, as is the case with guaiac methods.
- Sensitivity and accuracy: Provides high sensitivity and accuracy through immunological testing.
- Simple and hygienic sample collection: The patient uses a threaded rod for collection, which is pushed into a sample container with a screw cap, thus avoiding contamination.
- Closed system: Ideal for transport and laboratory handling; the test is performed by dripping onto a test cassette without direct contact with the sample.
Application:
- The patient takes the stool sample with the threaded rod.
- The threaded rod is inserted into the sample container with screw cap.
- In the laboratory, the tip of the closed sample container is opened and a few drops are applied to the test cassette.
Advantages
- Detects only human blood in faeces, avoiding false positive results.
- Fast and accurate results within 5 minutes at a detection limit of 10 ng/ml.
- Hygienic sample collection and safe transport thanks to the closed system.
Ideally suited for
- Hospitals
- Doctors' surgeries
- Inpatient and outpatient facilities
