Diclac Pain Gel 1% in detail

The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

How should it be used?
Apply the medicine to the affected area(s) of skin. Then massage the medicine into the skin. Wash your hands thoroughly after use. Avoid accidental contact with mucous membranes, eyes and open skin areas.

Duration of use?
As a rule, one application over 1-2 weeks is sufficient. If symptoms persist for longer, you should consult your doctor. If the symptoms have not improved or worsen after 3-5 days, you should consult a doctor. Adolescents should not use the medicine for longer than 7 days without medical advice.

Overdosage?
If the medicine is used as described, no overdose symptoms are known. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

As a general rule: Pay particular attention to conscientious dosing for infants, small children and the elderly. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist about any effects or precautionary measures.

A dosage prescribed by a doctor may differ from the information in the package leaflet. Since the doctor will adjust it individually, you should therefore use the medicine according to his instructions.

Storage before opening
The medicine must be stored away from heat.
Storage after opening or preparation
The medicinal product may be used for a maximum of 9 months after opening/preparation!
The medicinal product must be stored at room temperature after opening/preparation.

Always:
- Hypersensitivity to the ingredients
- Open injuries, inflammations or infections of the skin
- Eczema

Under certain circumstances - talk to your doctor or pharmacist:
- Spontaneous (mucus) skin swelling (angioedema)
- Hives (urticaria)
- Chronic obstructive airway disease (chronic airway disease with a narrowing of the airways)
- Chronic respiratory infections
- Bronchial asthma
- Allergic rhinitis, for example hay fever
- Nasal polyps (growths on the nasal mucosa)

Which age group should be considered?
- Children under 14 years of age: The medicine must not be used.
- Children and adolescents under 18 years of age: In this age group, the medicine should only be used for certain indications. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about this.

What about pregnancy and breastfeeding?
- Pregnancy: Consult your doctor. Various considerations play a role in whether and how the medicine can be used during pregnancy.
- Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor or pharmacist. They will check your particular situation and advise you accordingly as to whether and how you can continue breastfeeding.

How does the ingredient of the medicine work?

The active ingredient has an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effect. The drug also has anti-rheumatic properties. It blocks the formation of certain messenger substances in the body, known as prostaglandins. These are significantly involved in the development of pain, fever and inflammation.
